iCal Calendar Sync Guide

Read other calendars into Paragon and share local bookings and blocks through an iCal subscription link.

Supported Platforms

Connect providers that support standard iCal subscriptions. Each provider controls when it reads a feed.

Airbnb

Use Airbnb's export URL as a source for Paragon, and add Paragon's subscription link in Airbnb when you want Airbnb to read local blocks.

VRBO

Use VRBO's iCal export URL to block its dates on Paragon, or let VRBO subscribe to Paragon's local availability feed.

Booking.com

Read Booking.com's iCal blocks into Paragon or share Paragon's local bookings and manual blocks with Booking.com through a subscription.

How to Import a Calendar

Read supported external availability as blocked dates in three steps.

Copy the source URL

On the other platform, find its calendar export option and copy the iCal URL. This is the external calendar URL that Paragon will read.

Choose Read another calendar

In your property's availability settings, add a calendar connection. Choose Read another calendar or Both, then paste the source URL.

Fetch and check the dates

Use Fetch latest dates for an immediate Paragon import, then check the availability grid and any warnings. External events become blocked dates, not Paragon bookings.

How to Export Your Calendar

Let another provider subscribe to Paragon's local availability.

Choose Share this calendar

Choose Share this calendar or Both in your property's availability settings, then copy the calendar subscription link. It contains local bookings and manual blocks.

Add the link to your provider

In the other platform's calendar import settings, paste Paragon's link. That provider reads the link; Paragon does not push dates to it.

Check the provider's calendar

Paragon caches its feed for five minutes. Your provider chooses when to poll and apply it, so check there after its next refresh. Both also reads an external source into Paragon.

Tips & Best Practices

Understand timing, supported events, connection state, and what each feed contains.

Refresh timing

Paragon schedules imports hourly at minute 15. Queue delays and provider polling add time; there is no guaranteed deadline for a change to appear everywhere. Fetch latest dates refreshes Paragon only.

Manual blocks

Manual blocks and local bookings appear in Paragon's export feed. Each external provider must subscribe to the link before it can read those changes.

Multiple sources

Paragon can read several external feeds, but it does not relay imported-only blocks in its export feed. Each destination must subscribe directly to every source whose blocks it needs.

Warnings and pauses

Check connection warnings and the saved source URL. After three failed imports, Paragon pauses incoming updates until you retry. A paused import does not itself stop an enabled Both export link.

Supported events

Paragon reads supported all-day iCal date events, including basic recurrence dates. Timed events and unsupported recurrence overrides produce diagnostics; review warnings instead of assuming those dates were imported.

Removing a source

Deleting a connection stops its subscription link and may release dates owned only by that source. Bookings, manual blocks and other sources still protect their dates; review the availability grid after removal.

Protect subscription links

Treat a calendar subscription link like a password. Rotating it immediately revokes the old link, so replace the saved URL in every provider that uses it.

Turning off a connection

Disabling a connection stops its imports and its export link but keeps existing imported blocks. Re-enable it and fetch again when you are ready.
